Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and the AWS Federal Delivery Organization (FDO) team is looking for a motivated cross-program Principal Technologist to join our fast-paced organization. The FDO, manages direct US Government programs as part of the Worldwide Public Sector business. In this role you will work directly with customers, partners, and AWS service teams to manage technical and business integration challenges in support of US Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence Community (IC), and other US Government programs that rely on the AWS Cloud.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of cloud computing and emerging artificial intelligence technology, possess a background in systems integration; and have proven results within the Federal program management space. They will also have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the skill-set to dive deep and tactically drive business development programs. Excellent communications skills are a must. Candidates are expected to have the ability to write and convey compelling customer value propositions and participate in proposal efforts, as well as to interface with AWS business units responsible for delivering capabilities to customers. Through your work across AWS, you will be responsible for driving program compliance, customer and partner onboarding, and overall adoption of AWS within National Security programs.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities

  • Liaise with AWS service teams to ensure that AWS meets technical commitments to customers in named programs.
  • Interface with Capture, Sales, and Solutions Architecture teams to provide technical depth to partnership discussions and capture/pursuit decisions.
  • Coordinate a matrixed team drawn from the Federal business verticals in support of specific programs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop the long-term strategy for AWS to deliver across Federal with emphasis on IC requirements, including global infrastructure, feature and service deployment, and go-to-market approach.
  • Work closely with Amazon business leaders (such as customer account teams, hardware and software engineering leaders, professional services, and technical program managers).
  • Represent the voice of the customer; collaborate with internal AWS stakeholders to bring customer feedback to product teams. Lead curation of custom feature and availability requests for unique customer use cases.

A day in the life

This is a highly dynamic role, and as such, your typical day could include meetings with agency executives, program officers, and AWS stakeholders. In the afternoon, you might be leading an internal strategy or working session reviewing delivery opportunities and risks across multiple AWS dedicated cloud programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
  • 7+ years of professional or military experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
  • Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
