Non-CDL Truck Driver

FCA Packaging creates and manufactures innovative wood packaging solutions. Our builders manufacture wood pallets, boxes, and crates and we are looking for a CMV Driver for our Kent, WA facility.

Overview:

The CMV Truck Driver experience is required to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. The driver will be driving a 26’ flatbed or 26’ curtain trailer. They will be hauling pallets, and wooden crates built for companies packaging needs. Experience is preferred but not required. Willing to pay for CMV certification. Pay staarting at $19 for non-certified, $20-22 starting for certified drivers. The average hours per week are 40-45 hours, as the schedule will be M-F, 6AM-2:30PM, with available overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants, retail, or distribution centers
• Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Input proper information into Geotab and automated systems for each stage of the loading and unloading process when necessary
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations

Qualifications:

• Experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, Geotab)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations

education and/or Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Language Skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively. Professional communication is required.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to calculate figures and use basic math skills.
• Computer Skills
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics.
• Reasoning Ability
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
