Nashville Veterinary Specialists in Nashville, TN is looking to add an Overnight Supervisor to our ER/ICU team.

Schedule: Four, 10-hour shifts per week, 6pm-4am

position Responsibilities:

  • Department Operations & Workflow: Manage overnight department flow, delegate tasks, oversee breaks, handle staffing/client issues, monitor ER times, and maintain communication across hospital teams.
  • Staff Oversight & Scheduling: Maintain ER/ICU/VTA schedules, approve time off and corrections, fill in when needed, manage labor/overtime, and support the ER Director and Hospital Manager with department growth.
  • Training & Development: Lead onboarding/training with hospital trainer, uphold protocols, serve as a preceptor, and assist with performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Team Leadership & Morale: Foster a positive, accountable, and proactive team culture by promoting open communication, discouraging drama, and strengthening team cohesion through regular meetings.
  • Administrative & Strategic Support: Create protocol manuals, implement opening/closing procedures, facilitate interviews, manage inventory/equipment, and contribute feedback to leadership for ongoing improvement.

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled in veterinary triage, diagnostics and nursing
  • Flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours if necessary
  • Must be able to multi-task and complete assigned tasks
  • Must be able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Have at least 5+ years of veterinary hospital experience
  • Licensed Technicians preferred but not required
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
