Patient Service Specialist (PSS)
Location: 100 Campus Drive, Scarborough, Maine
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-6:00 PM (4x10s or 5x8s)

position Summary:
MaineHealth is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our dedicated IV Therapy team in Scarborough. This front-facing role is critical in supporting patients-many living with cancer or chronic illnesses-as they navigate their treatment journeys. As a PSS, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and families, delivering compassionate customer service while ensuring accurate scheduling, registration, and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and check in patients with professionalism and empathy
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with attention to clinical needs and continuity of care
- Verify insurance and collect co-pays or other payments
- Respond to patient inquiries, troubleshoot scheduling challenges, and advocate for patient needs
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Collaborate closely with nurses, providers, and administrative team members
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Six months of medical office experience required.

- Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
