Metro Transit’s Contracted Services Section is hiring a Project & Program Manager III position to support Fleet Maintenance & Readiness for the Community Access Transportation (CAT) and Dial-A-Ride-Transit (DART) services within Mobility Services.
PPMIII Position:
This fleet governance position will work with service program managers as well as the Mobility Services fleet Chief and Community Transportation Services Chief to ensure proper fleet maintenance and readiness for Mobility Services fleets, primarily CAT and DART.
CAT focuses on providing flexible mobility options for underserved populations that include older adults, people with disabilities and low-income populations. DART, which is currently operated by a vendor (Hopelink), provides Trailhead Direct, the Water Taxi shuttle, and deviated-fixed-route service. Vehicle types range from 7/8-passenger sedans to 22’-35’ lift-equipped or ramped accessible vehicles.
The position is expected to provide project and program management to support fleet lifecycle and vehicle procurement planning, help ensure program vehicles are ready for service within their useful life benchmark and operating in a state-of-good-repair. Contract performance monitoring & management related to fleet readiness and maintenance for over 25 community agencies to ensure driver requirements and vehicle use complies with their agreement will be central to the position as well. The incumbent is responsible for supporting programs and fleets focused on transportation alternatives and helping to expand mobility options beyond fixed route bus and paratransit services. The ideal candidates for the position will also have excellent communication skills, be able to work autonomously, and able to deliver multiple priorities and efforts at a high level.
This recruitment will fill one (1) Project/Program Manager III position. Additionally, an eligibility pool may be created to fill future vacancies within the Contracted Services Section. The eligibility pool will remain active for 12 months from the posting date and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority to fill similar positions as they become available.

We are looking for candidates that meet the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Planning (Land Use, Urban, Regional, Transportation, Environmental), Business, Public Administration, Economics, Technology or related field and work experience in fleet or transportation management, shared mobility, demand management OR any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the work, including the following:

Work Schedule
Contracted Services positions have a work week that is 40 hours, Monday through Friday. In addition, some of the work associated with these positions may be performed remotely. These positions are subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore are not eligible for overtime pay. Work outside normal business hours may be required occasionally.

Work Location
The primary location of the position is at the King Street Center offices, 201 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA 98104.
Temporary Telecommuting Requirement
The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of teleworking and working in the office. Employees in this classification will work in the office approximately 1-2 days per week in the future. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
