The Process Engineer II, under the direction of the designated Plant Manager, is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. The Process Engineer II will work closely with cross functional teams to identify improvements, troubleshoot issues, support production operations, and assist in the design and implementation of new equipment and processes.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Comply with, support, and provide limited technical input to all EH&S and quality programs, trainings, and policies while operating in a safe, honest, and ethical manner
  • Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes and assist in the design, development and implementation of new processes and equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process-related issues. Collaborate with other engineers for complaint resolution activities; implement corrective and preventive actions when applicable
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and engineering
  • Determine critical process metrics, monitor them on a regular basis, and provide direction in the collection and interpretation of metric data
  • Maintain open and frequent communications with operators and other engineers about equipment status and collaborate on improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other engineers on complaint resolution activities including root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions for any complaints in the assigned area. When applicable, implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Provide manufacturing capability information and improvement opportunities to product management teams to improve product margins
  • Coordinate efforts to identify, prioritize, and determine business impact of strategic and tactical process improvement initiatives
  • Act as technical liaison for customers
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of processing equipment and provide direction for equipment breakdowns and slowdowns to ensure product quality and throughput are maintained
  • Work with and provide technical input to Product Development (R&D) to follow the New Product Development process in implementing the manufacturing related sections such as bills of material, process router steps, work instructions and standard operating procedures, and key process variable monitoring, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (Materials, Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline); advanced degree is a plus
  • Green Belt or Black Belt experience preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead technical teams
  • Ability to manage multiple complex assignments / projects
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn, receive, and provide coaching.
  • Demonstrated history of operating with sense of urgency and accountability
  • Minimal travel may be required based on business need
  • Proven record of working with strategic business teams to support top and / or bottom-line growth preferred

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
