Job Description
Using both conventional and emerging concepts, tools and methodologies, will work in collaboration with the Quality Engineering Services (QES) and Agile teams, to provide quality engineering and testing activities as a member of our FHIR Agile team. Will execute system integration testing, will design and execute test cases, developing, executing & maintaining automation test scripts and work under the general guidance and direction of a Quality Engineer II / III / Program Quality Engineer to understand business requirements and business expectations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s Degree or direct and applicable work experience
- Minimum 1 year experience:
- Developing and executing test cases utilizing industry standard testing methodologies or processes to develop test cases, ensure test coverage of requirements, execute test cases, and log defects
- Developing and executing automation / performance test scripts using tools that are appropriate to the technology platform
- Documenting defects, tracking resolution and following-up with various stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, including issue resolution and conflict management
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to think strategically, and to mold testing to meet business requirements
- Analytical ability and strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
Preferred:
- Associate’s Degree
- Experience working with HL7 FHIR or Interoperability solutions
- Experience on working on APIs and testing tools like tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Swagger
- Using a test management and defect management tool
- Awareness or experience creating test plans include test approach, timelines, test estimates, create test metrics and test environment planning
- Knowledge of various Information Technology platforms (Client/Server, Data Warehouse, Internet/Intranet, Electronic Commerce, Mainframe) and how each fits within and/or complements the enterprise architecture
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and working on agile environment
- Experience in working on automation tools and automation frameworks
- Data warehouse testing experience including writing SQL/MongoDB queries
- CSQA, CSTE, CSQE, or other industry standard testing accreditation
Additional Information
Job Responsibilities
a. Review and perform analysis of business requirements and validate for its testability. Will then design, write, and execute test cases for systems and production validation according to the defined testing plan and company guidelines. This will include testing data on service layers, web applications, and data warehouse/ETL processes.
b. Decompose test plan to verify system requirements within a technology project. May work under the guidance of more experienced testing resource on larger/more complex efforts.
c. Create / maintain test scenarios, scripts (automation / performance) and cases, with focus on reusability to ensure cost efficiency and create traceability matrix against the requirements.
d. Identify the test data requests required for the test execution. Identify, analyze, log, and retest system defects found during test execution. Prepare test execution plans detailing individual daily activities and milestones for the Quality Engineer II / III / Program Quality Engineer; including providing status reports as requested.
e. Look for opportunities to incorporate test automation for assigned projects or releases; including tooling/solution accelerators to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Look to test code components in non – conventional approaches, exploring shift–left strategy.
f. Support and adhere to Wellmark software development lifecycle (SDLC), operational procedures and development and security standards by following required process.
g. Support Quality Engineering Services in various transformational efforts aligned to the department/Technology strategy.
h. Other duties as assigned.

Remote Eligible: You will have the flexibility to work where you are most productive. This position is eligible to work fully remote. Depending on your location, you may still have the option to come into a Wellmark office if you wish to. Your leader may ask you to come into the office occasionally for specific meetings or other ‘moments that matter’ as well.
