Quality Technician – 2nd Shift

position Overview

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* Assist Quality Manager and Quality Engineer with evaluation of manufacturing and quality issues.
* Perform first article inspections and feature verification checks and document results.
* Program touch probe and vision CMM.
* Control and maintain inspection equipment calibration program.
* Perform gage repeatability and reproducibility studies.
* Perform mold component and tool inspections and document results.
* Maintain quality department documentation.
* Perform receiving inspections as needed.
* Communicate with customers to define quality requirements and/or resolve quality issues.
* Perform system and shipping audits as needed.
* Fill in as Quality Inspector, as needed.
* Generate and control quality/manufacturing reports and records, as requested.
* Lead/Participate in quality improvement projects.
* Participate in plant-wide safety efforts.
* Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

experience and Qualifications

• education: Two-year technical degree and 3 years’ experience, four-year degree, or ASQ, CQT/CQE certification
• Experience: 2-5 years’ experience in quality manufacturing setting, experience reading blueprints, experience in Plastic Injection Molding preferred. Knowledge of International Organization Standards (ISO).
• Specific Skills: Calibration or metrology experience/certification, CMM programming background/training, strong mathematical skills, statistics background/training, ability to work collaboratively with internal & external teams.
• Equipment & Machinery: Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), PCDMIS, calliper, micrometer optical comparator, Chatillon force tester.
• Computer Experience & Software: CREO, PCDMIS, Minitab, Microsoft Suite, Statistical (exp. Infinity QS, WinSpc)
