Responsibility: Will perform the following duties and responsibilities, which may include, but are not limited to: · This position requires you to work between the x-ray and CT department. · Always ask for at least two forms of identification, (name, DOB) · Instructing the patients to undergo the appropriate positions to get accurate images. · Keeping radiographic equipment in quality working order · Obtaining images for any areas requested by the physician or radiologist. · Using radiation on the patient if necessary · Keeping track of patient records · Assisting radiologists and physicians in the process of understanding and evaluating the images · Preventing exposure from certain areas of the patient’s body so they do not expose to radiation. · Patient communication and preparation including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure and explaining how the process works. · Positioning patients properly to obtain x-rays. · Setting the equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged. · Applying their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process to help the physician diagnose problems. · Must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare radiography equipment, position patients, and obtain optimal images for diagnosis. · Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped. · Apply HIPPA to every patient. · Putting reports in the patient chart after the Radiologist has read the images, and the report is dictated. · Check each patient’s order before scanning the patient, if there are any questions with the order, make sure to ask the ordering physician.
– High school education or equivalent experience.
