Rail Yard Operator

We are looking for a Rail Yard Operator who is ethical, punctual and self-led! Responsible for railcar pre and post inspection paperwork. Loading and unloading petroleum to and from railcars and tankers. Following all DOT and FRA guidelines.

What does it take to work at Synergy?

• HS Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of loading/unloading railcars preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Track Mobile experience is a plus!
• Petroleum experience is an asset
• Excellent communication and detail oriented written and verbally
• Must be able to work simple mathematical calculations
• Mechanically inclined is a plus!
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must work well with a team and independently
• Great work ethic and punctual
• Follow direction and take initiative
• Safety minded
• Must be able to stand for long periods, lift to 50lb, work at heights, bend, stoop and climb

• Ensures safety is the number one priority at all times and follows all Health & Safety procedures to ensure the safety of themselves and others around them
• Inspects shipping containers and tankers for suitability to load finished products
• Inspects railcars and tankers to meet the requirements of Railroad and D.O.T.
• Reviews shipping paperwork for product to be loaded
• Prepares paperwork for shipment, filing and processing
• Calculates gallons and other calculations as needed
• Loads requested products and volumes indicated on paperwork into trailers and railcars
• Organizes and maintains truck and rail loading areas
• Transfers additives to and from various containers
• Prepares samples of finished products and submits to Lab for approval to transfer and or load for shipment to customers
