Release Train Engineer

Description – Hybrid in San Antonio

The RTE will help drive SAFe Program Increment Ceremonies (include PO Sync, SoS, Planning, I&A Problem Solving workshops, System Demos) Agile Metrics, Program coordination, Management Briefings. This person will work with various team on the business side to drive change and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Actuarial services, underwriting, and Data Scientist are the primary internal customers they are supporting. There are 10 dev teams that will be under the RTE, with 4 scrum masters working with those teams. Must be onsite 4 days a week, Hybrid in San Antonio Home Office.

This customer is one of the first Enterprise P&C organizations to adopt Guidewire’s SaaS Cloud Platform. The implementation has been underway for 4+ years (they started with Claims). This is exciting work and the teams are excellent.

Ability to lead and coach development teams across the enterprise. Driving to execution is the primary driver. Being able to push when needed. Also need to coach to agile and Safe methodology when needed.

The Ideal candidate will have a PM skillset and understand the concept of critical path and how to prioritize things and know what to run down first

They will drive the project and people and hold people accountable to timelines and milestones

They will have ownership mentality/mindset and use what they have been trained on

They will understand that there are constraints within the environment and sometimes things are not black and white and know that capabilities that get pushed out are often less than what they would like in a perfect world. Because they are doing an entire policy admin system replacement you don’t necessarily have the luxury of testing a hypothesis and proving you can get value out of it due to time constraints etc, sometimes you have to go with less than to show ROI sooner than later. They have a high level vision but like an iceberg you have to chip away at it.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 – $75.00/hr.
