Position Summary
This position will fill the role of the primary research technician in a pancreas cancer/tumor immunology laboratory working directly with a surgical oncologist who is embedded within a larger immunology lab in Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our lab focuses on understanding the mechanisms driving immunosuppression in pancreatic cancer and identifying novel immunotherapy approaches to treat this disease.
The position will consist of lab operational duties, basic tissue culture work, processing of human samples for downstream multi-omic analysis, flow cytometry, and animal work. Candidates will interact with a team of researchers and must be able to collaborate effectively with others. Opportunity for future growth.
Minimum Education and experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Course work with laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Motivated learner who is adaptable.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Prior work with cells of human or animal origin.
Experience in immunology and cancer biology.
Experience with sample preparation for multi-omic analysis (single cell sample preparation, RNA preparation).
Preference will be given to those with laboratory or technician experience.
