Salary Range $65,000 – $70,000
Primary Purpose of Department
The Purchasing Office is responsible for the coordination of the purchase of goods, services, and informal construction projects. We ensure all transactions are in compliance with North Carolina Statute, Administrative Code and University policies related to procurement.
Primary Purpose of Position
Serves as the purchasing agent for all divisions of Facilities Management.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
  • Review requisitions
  • Prepare solicitations
  • Review and edit contracts
  • Ensure compliance with all state procurement rules
Minimum education/experience
  • Four-year degree from an accredited institution;
  • Two-year degree and at least four years of procurement-related experience; or an
  • Equivalent combination of education and procurement-related work experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Associates Degree and four (4) years of procurement experience needed; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Contract review training or certification.
  • Construction procurement experience.
  • Knowledge of public higher education or governmental procurement practices.
