JOB SUMMARY
As the Senior Director, Advertising Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in Marriott’s future by driving the development and execution of advertising technology and product strategy. This role will oversee teams across product strategy, IT, measurement & analytics, data & engineering, and partner campaign reporting.
The Senior Director, Advertising Solutions will own the ad tech ecosystem and product roadmap for Marriott. This includes driving the strategic direction of the ad tech ecosystem while partnering with external agencies, consultants, technology partners, and key internal stakeholders to develop, implement, and scale innovative solutions. The role will manage highly visible key strategic initiatives, project manage multiple teams and timelines, and present regularly to the executive steering committee.
This role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to thrive in a complex environment. You are an excellent communicator and leader that will inspire the advertising product and tech strategy, incorporating customer insights and Marriott’s unique value. You are naturally curious and stay current on the MarTech/AdTech ecosystem, digital marketing, and evolving advertising landscape.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Data science, or another related field
- Ten or more years of experience in digital media and/or retail/commerce media with a strong product or operations background
- Strong knowledge of digital media channels, technology, operations, and CRM/audience activation
- Strong understanding of programmatic, managed service, and on/offsite advertising and associated reporting and analytic models
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience in digital media and/or retail/commerce media and management
- Proven experience leading a product organization in the digital media/technology space, and/or proven experience leading a core business operations org in the digital media/technology space
- Strong technical and operational foundation, with relevant experience in digital media advertising technologies (including onsite advertising operations, DSPs, offline paid media, ad serving/data technology, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills as well as demonstrated experience in fact-based analysis, including the ability to persuasively present insights and recommendations to senior management and build relationships with senior business partners
- Strong strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making with the ability to break down complex problems and formulate plans
Education and Experience Preferred
- Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Primary Activities
- Build, hire, and manage product strategy, IT, measurement & analytics, data & engineering, and partner campaign reporting teams.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure flawless execution of our product roadmap, consistently proving and increasing our value to existing and new advertising partners.
- Define overall priorities for advertising product evolution, including the itemization, unification, and integration of tools and systems to help automate campaign execution.
- Oversee advertising measurement and reporting, including working with the partner campaign reporting team to define key KPIs, design vendor reporting dashboards, and manage overall advertising partner analytics.
- Develop regular, impactful communication of new products, progress, issues, and impact to be presented to executive steering committee members & other senior stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation and optimization.
- Drive buy-in with senior leadership across the organization.
The salary range for this position is $147,000 to $216,000 annually.
