SUMMARY: This position requires strategic leadership for all lending activities and will work closely with the Chief Credit Officer to oversee the loan portfolio, including monitoring compliance with lending programs and policies. Other requirements including ability to originate and underwrite loan requests with strong credit, financial analysis, and risk assessment skills. Excellent communication and relationship building abilities are crucial as additional responsibilities include developing and training the lending team, including loan officers and support staff, to support loan growth and foster a collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Portfolio Management
Originates, underwrites and prepares credit presentations including review of detailed financial statements and analysis of all types of tax returns
Analyzes and evaluates complex loan presentations to recommend to loan committee in accordance with sound banking practices to minimize risk
Collaborates with Chief Credit Officer on risk assessment and portfolio management
Ensures compliance with all internal audit and external regulatory exam requirements
Team Development
Fosters a culture of collaboration to encourage excellent staff and client relationships
Leads, mentors and develops the lending team, ensuring staff remains current on regulatory changes and understands bank processes and procedures
Performs direct supervision of loan officers including performance reviews
Reviews staff loan presentations for accuracy and policy compliance and assesses risk to determine appropriate rate and term structure
Identifies potential problems and works with loan officers, collection staff and clients to resolve, including loan work outs.
Risk Management
Participates as a member of the loan committee team evaluating loan submissions.
Follows all state and federal laws and Clackamas County Bank’s policies and procedures
Completes all required continuing education and regulatory testing and monitors staff compliance with same
Implements corrective action for any identified audit compliance issues
Business Development
Actively participates in the Bank’s calling program and monitors staff goals
Develops and maintains relationships with key customers and the community
Identifies opportunities for selling bank products and services
Completes special projects as assigned by senior management and other responsibilities as required.
