Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join its organization.

Responsibilities:

• Support production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Spend the majority of time, up to 90%, on shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues.
• Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering.
• Interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
• Apply basic knowledge of the design of organization’s products and technology to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems.
• Selects the best method or process from among several existing alternatives.
• Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
• Deliver technical presentations.
• Perform technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.
• Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
• Provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Apply basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes.
• Interact with employees located at multiple facilities across the country.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor Degree with 4+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience
• Mechanical or Manufacturing background experience
• Understanding of root cause/corrective action/preventive action
• Understanding of welding practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with spray paint processes of military or commercial vehicles and equipment
• Commercial blast room equipment and bead blasting of military or commercial vehicles experience
• Gage and equipment calibration and control ISO 9001-2008 knowledge
• Lean manufacturing experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 – $146982

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
