Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, or any other related field of study
2+ years of experience with preparing, reviewing, and filing of corporate tax returns
Experience working with Big 4 company or large CPA firm
Intermediate experience with Excel functions
Job Description
The Sr. Tax Accountant supports all aspects of the tax department functions, including preparation and review of tax returns, tax provision, indirect tax filings, and research tax laws and regulations. Duties include:
Prepare and review workpapers for corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns.
Assist with the preparation and review of interim and year-end tax provision workpapers.
Review and facilitate the monthly sales and use tax returns filings with Avalara.
Prepare and review federal and state estimated income tax payments and tax return extensions.
Assist with responses to taxing authorities.
Develop inter-department relationships and interface with personnel to ensure that tax information acquired from other departments is accurate and timely.
Perform monthly tax account reconciliations and journal entries.
Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
