Fortress Nutrition is actively hiring for an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our Warehouse team on 1st Shift!

 

Standard Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, M-F (occasional OT and weekends as needed)
Job Summary: Working as part of the Warehouse team, and under the supervision of the Receiving Lead, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for executing the scheduling, shipping, receiving, and tracking of truck orders for multiple clients. Working closely with the warehouse team, this individual will ensure orders ship and product is received in accordance with client and retailer expectations. This role supports cross-functional teams in the area of Supply Chain, QA/QC document requests, Account Management invoice reconciliations, logistics projects, and additional essential administrative tasks as directed.
What You’ll Do:

  • Communicate daily with transportation companies and clients to route shipments via numerous systems
  • Schedule and route LTL & TL shipments based on customer and retailer requirements
  • Prepare documents for LTL & TL shipments (e.g., BOLs, commercial invoices, etc.)
  • Provide daily shipment reports to the Warehouse Manager and Account Management team
  • Review and understand retailer routing guides to ensure all shipment requirements are met
  • Manage email communication systems and communicate effectively and timely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manifest, send ASNs, and record required data points for all outbound truck orders
  • Physically inspect, document required data, and report data for all inbound shipments
  • Develop and maintain an organizational system for order and shipping paperwork
  • Partner with internal teams to problem solve and reduce inefficiencies in daily operations
  • Proactively identify and help implement enhancements to transportation management processes to support a positive customer experience
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor, Operations Manager or Director of Operations
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of previous experience in Supply Chain/Logistics or Receiving Operations, including transportation and shipping operations required
  • Previous Warehouse/3PL experience strongly desired
  • Ability to use systems and technology to multi-task, manage time, and create efficiencies
  • Proficient with computers/computer programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to handle situations with priority
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working in food/beverage, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is desired
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment with exposure to food allergens (ex. dairy, soy, etc.)
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; talk or hear; reach above shoulders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pinch or touch objects, controls, tools or equipment; kneel, crouch and use foot/feet to operate machinery.
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, move, push or pull materials, product or equipment up to 50 pounds; bend at the waist; climb or balance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
