Our Internship Program

Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses. The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth. Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment.

Co-op Program Overview:

The Co-op Program runs January – August 2025. You will work with a variety of staff across multiple departments with an opportunity to put your technological skills to work while learning about financial exchange technology and operations. The ideal candidate should be versatile, eager, personable, assertive and able to work in a fast-paced technical environment.

The position is with the Cboe FX Webtools team. Cboe Global Markets is a global financial exchange operator and provider of trading solutions. Cboe FX is an electronic foreign currency trading platform. Our team provides world class software solutions to meet the needs of our clients and preserve orderly operations. We prioritize delivering intuitive, reliable, scalable, and responsive interfaces with involvement in the full technology stack. We highly leverage automated testing frameworks to evaluate/validate functionality and allow for increasingly complex architectures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited institution studying computer science or a related field with at least one year completed
  • Not scheduled to graduate before December 2025
  • Able to commit to 20 to 40 hours a week during the co-op program
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Quick learner and ability to work independently. The team is mostly remote. We talk all day long and help each other out, but we need someone who can self-teach and figure things out after being provided necessary training and documentation.

Cboe FX operates in a hybrid working environment, requiring 3 days a week in office and 2 days remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, test and deploy full-stack web software, reports, and real-time monitoring solutions to support business operations. Technology used includes:

  • Object oriented languages: Python, Java
  • Web: Django, React, AngularJS, HTML

  • Redis
  • Linux
  • Jenkins

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $24 to $36 an hour. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
