  • This position is located at our Booker Noe facility but will execute Capital and Major Maintenance projects at both the Clermont and Booker Noe campuses

Mission of Role

The Project Engineer will design and manage capital projects for all areas at the Clermont and Booker Noe Plants, in addition to providing technical support to the production and maintenance departments. The Project Engineer will be responsible for identifying and recommending improvements relating to processes and procedures.

Role Responsibilities

  • Independently execute projects related to Process Engineering, specifically those related to distillation and other unit operations such as centrifugation, evaporation, anddrying.
  • Direct drafting from initial drawing to final as-built. This includes reviewing PFDs, P&IDs and layout drawings for technical correctness and operability.
  • Develop and revise engineering standards as directed by Engineering Manager.
  • Lead projects and teams to completion.
  • Ability to communicate status of projects to all levels of leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in Project Management or Process Engineering for 5 – 7 years.
  • Proficient in performing mass, energy, and water balances.
  • Perform heat transfer calculations and knowledge of heat exchanger design.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to walk moderate distances, up to one mile.
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time.
  • Experience in automation project design, installation and operation.
  • Previous experience working in the food processing industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting.
  • Ability to read flow diagrams and PID’s.
  • Ability to work independently to develop project scopes, schedule meetings, coordinate contractors, outlook progress and modify actions as necessary to maintain schedules,track spending and expenditures and perform all other activities necessary for proper project management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Process, Packaging, or similar Engineering from an accredited Engineering College preferred.
  • A four-year degree in engineering technology with appropriate experience may be considered.
