Storeroom Clerk Job Description
Position Purpose:
This position performs the daily storeroom operations, adhering to established storage, stock rotation, requisition sanitation and security procedures.
Additional responsibilities include preparing reports and taking inventory.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Applies proper dating, tagging to all food /Beverage products, materials and supplies placed into storeroom
- Assists in the proper storage of materials and supplies received; appropriate refrigeration of perishable items, and proper placement and rotation of stock
- Maintains proper storage of Vegetables/fruits/ herbs/ juices/ breads/ desserts and ensuring proper placement and rotation of stock.
- Ensuring shelving’s of the walking box gets cleaned weekly.
- Assist in ensuring all perishable is stored and FIFO is followed. Ensuring all fish / shellfish is stored on crushed ice before putting in walk-in box.
- Ensures Proper storage of all protein as per NYC department of health guidelines and ensuring label and dating of all products.
- Monitors par levels for items in inventory, notifies Storeroom clerk when levels reach reorder point or order yourself
- Monitors temperatures in refrigerated storage areas notifies Sous chef and engineering of elevated temperatures if there is any issue.
- Performs any operations necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of storeroom/ sub cellar/ walk-in box including Brooming and moping.
- Performs storeroom activities according to accepted procedures, verifies receipt of materials and supplies as specified on purchase order documents; places materials received into appropriate storage
- Assists in the completion of receiving reports in Adaco.
- Monitors all the receiving and maintains all the storage of all the liquors/ wines / water / sodas / juices/ Nonalcoholic beverages etc.
- Notifies Sous chef/ storeroom clerk of any receiving related discrepancies, to facilitate request for credit or replacement or damaged or discrepant goods by sending a discrepancy form.
- Assists in the performance of monthly Beverage inventory
- Receives and stores supplies related to Regency Bar and Grill / In room Dinning / culinary / cafeteria
- Restocks all the supplies (cups/lids/to go box /coaster/ printer paper/quart containers/ preserves / sugars etc. in main kitchen for smooth operation
- Maintains refrigeration temperature log for all refrigeration pertaining to receiving and storing perishable items.
- Maintaining a specific area for damaged product and returning the items for a proper credit to the appropriate companies.
- Attends required hotel meetings to: keep abreast of in-house activities/promotions and events; maintain communications with other departments throughout the hotel
- Other duties as assigned

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Qualification Standards:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 1 year prior experience in receiving, storeroom operations. Experience in hospitality industry preferred

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $28.85 to $38.48.
