The Supervisor, UM Administration contributes to administration of utilization management. The Supervisor, UM Administration works within thorough, prescribed guidelines and procedures; uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors to solve basic problems; collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach.

The Supervisor, UM Administration provides non-clinical support for the policies and procedures ensuring best and most appropriate treatment, care or services for members. Decisions are typically are related to schedule, plans and daily operations. Performs escalated or more complex work of a similar nature, and supervises a group of typically support and technical associates; coordinates and provides day-to-day oversight to associates. Ensures consistency in execution across team. Holds team members accountable for following established policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one, (1) year of experience in a team leadership role, examples include Subject Matter, Expert, (SME), Quality Coaching, or Project Lead.
  • Intermediate or better proficiency using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, navigating multiple systems and platforms and ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical difficulties in a remote environment.
  • Able to give direction and make sound business decisions
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and engage in ethical behavior
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • Supervisory experience including all of the following: hiring, training, coaching, and up to termination.
  • Experience in an operational setting
  • General understanding of economic, financial and operational concepts
  • Previous supervisory experience in a UM setting

Workstyle: Remote Work at Home

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern

Travel: Less than 5%

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$71,100 – $97,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
