Duties

• Serves as Director, Operations Support Directorate.
• Serves as a senior member of the DLA Disposition Services Leadership Team, providing trusted input required to shape the organization’s operational programs, policy, strategic focus, vision and goals.
• Develops procedures and provides field guidance that executes DoD policy governing the proper disposition of excess and surplus property worldwide.
• Ensures the public is protected through the compliant disposal of hazardous property and the destruction of property whose release is not authorized.
• Promotes maximum reutilization of DoD excess property to the military services, as a cost avoidance in lieu of new procurement to fulfill their supply needs.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Property Disposal Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

• Developing procedures and provides guidance to field activities on execution of DoD policy governing disposition of excess and surplus property worldwide.
• Performing on-going review of operations for effectiveness in meeting and satisfying customer requirements and meeting DLA goals and objectives.
• Promoting effective and efficient use of Government facilities, equipment, and personnel.
• Applying extensive disposal program knowledge in making recommendations to higher Command Headquarters on tailored policies and priorities that affect field offices.

B. Education Substitution: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.

Next steps

If you meet the minimum qualifications of this position, you may be presented with instructions on how to access the DLA Supv Situational Judgment Test (SSJT) system.
