As a Treasury Reconciliations Accountant, you will be responsible for performing timely and accurate reconciliations of bank and suspense accounts in alignment with policies and monthly close deadlines established by Empower’s Enterprise Process & Internal Control (EPIC) team. This role ensures alignment between external statements and the company’s general ledger, investigates and resolves outstanding variances, and partners with internal teams to clear aged items.

What you will do:
  • Perform assigned monthly bank and suspense account reconciliations to identify outstanding variances between source (i.e.. bank account statements, suspense accounts) and company general ledger
  • Complete assigned reconciliations by deadlines derived from the monthly financial close calendar
  • Perform follow up with various internal company resources to assist in clearing outstanding aged items identified on the reconciliations
  • Perform quarterly variance analysis tasks assigned in Blackline
  • Monitor bank account statements for various miscellaneous adjustment activity to alert business operations of items which could impact clients or participants and need immediate attention to resolve
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to account reconciliations
  • Perform review of assigned accounts and activity to prevent risk of loss due to errors
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • 2-5 years of prior experience in accounting and/or reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of Blackline and SAP ECC
  • Ability to understand bank transactions and cash flows and how those effect the bank statement and general ledger balances
  • Ability to understand and apply general accounting principles
  • Strong MS Excel skills – Intermediate level or higher
  • Must be able to understand and follow established Account Reconciliation Policy

Base Salary Range

$57,000.00 – $78,300.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
