Turquoise Ridge – Process Lube Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for you! Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Process Lube Technician to join our Turquoise Ridge operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs of Ball and SAG mills, gear boxes and agitators, centrifugal pumps, vibrating screens, process crushing and conveying maintenance. At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world’s most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, the Process Lube Technician is responsible for the following tasks:

• Daily equipment lubrication routes and execution of industrial PM’s.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the lubrication process.
• Maintain product inventory, proper min/max of packaging products, and keep the lube room organized.
• Top off oil reservoirs or grease equipment with the correct product and proper technique.
• Retrieve oil samples from various pieces of equipment while maintaining sample integrity.
• Operate filtration, and pumping equipment.
• Maintains accurate records for quality control of lubricant packaging and storage including sample retention.
• Removes oil from sump and stores in waste oil tank; disposal for waste oil and used sorbent material.
• Equipment operation. (Forklift, truck, aerial lift, ext.)
• Ability to identify the location of all oil filled components on different equipment to be filled, correct type of fluid and lubrication to use and location of filters and strainers.
• Perform manual lubrication, change filters, drain and fill oil, take an oil sampling, change breathers, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

• Excellent safety and attendance record required
• Millwright, or similar, with welding and/or mechanical experience required
• Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level required
• Willing to work in a team-based maintenance organization required
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work with minimum supervision required
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions required
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required
• Skilled in mild steel cutting and position welding required
• Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds required
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required
• Ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
• Experience with conveyors, chutes, crushers, rollers, pulleys, and bearings preferred
• Experience with preventative maintenance and repairs of Ball and SAG mills, gear boxes and agitators, centrifugal pumps, vibrating screens preferred
• Understanding of basic oil analysis, thermography and vibration analysis preferred
• Understanding of precision alignment techniques preferred
