Role Summary
The Facilities Lead Technician brings over 5 years of distribution experience in automated environments to support both Distribution and Fulfillment Centers. They possess exceptional leadership and organizational skills and can effectively communicate and manage a team of two to five individuals.
As the lead, they serve as the main point of contact for project updates, repairs, and preventative maintenance, while also assisting technicians with daily and weekly assignments. Quick to identify and solve problems, they thrive in dynamic environments, always maintaining attention to detail. Their proactive approach includes embracing diverse assignments and collaborating seamlessly with colleagues across all organizational levels, fostering a cohesive and productive work atmosphere.
Role Responsibilities
- Spearheaded a team of support technicians in daily tasks, ensuring the organized upkeep of common areas throughout the warehouse, perimeter of campus buildings, smoker’s areas, landscaping, and trash and cardboard dumpster zones.
- Collaborate with Operational Leaders to schedule downtime for specific areas, ensuring coordination with Facilities Support for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Engage Maintenance Supervisor as needed for Campus Project Coordination and Spare Parts Inventory.
- Monitor the daily performance of production and/or facilities equipment, providing assistance and consultation to subordinates regarding cleaning issues and maintenance technical support needs as required.
- Provide comprehensive training and instruction to subordinates according to SOPs and related documents, ensuring proficiency in maintenance and equipment operation as well as other job functions within assigned areas, under the guidance of the Supervisor/Manager.
- Standardize and develop SOPs tailored for the support technician position to efficiently support both Fulfillment Centers (FC) and Distribution Centers (DC).
- Manage the daily routine of the contracted janitorial services.
- Be available for emergency callbacks and flexible toward the daily start schedule and overtime requirements, including holidays and plant shutdowns.
- Pursue and implement methods that will maximize production.
- Assist, coordinate, and execute Capital Projects.
- Maintain min and max spare parts accurately.
- Maintain Campus Fleet list and State Requirements.
- Maintain Building and System Documents in preparation for Annual Risk Assessment.
- Maintain NA Network CAD and Drafts File.
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices for self and others throughout the campus.
Role Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required
- Minimum of 5 plus of distribution experience in an automated distribution or production environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Demonstrate initiative and can work independently
- Excels in working under pressure and within tight time constraints
- Understand the critical importance of accuracy in every aspect of their work
- Able to develop and interpret spreadsheets
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk throughout a shift
- Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods
- Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds
- Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e. pallet jack, box cutter, carts) which requires coordinated movements
